Kawaii Kon.

Just saying the words can invoke the images of purple-haired vixens in exotic slit-to-there dresses…or dumpy fat guys who think it’s funny to dress as pre-teen schoolgirls.

Either way, we’re here to recap our experiences at Honolulu’s only major convention centered on anime/manga and their related media and games.

NOTE: We all totally support Kawaii Kon, but everyone gets to be teased on this show.  Especially Kyle.

We also brought in our friend Joel to discuss the Kon and desperately try to segue that into the local forum site he owns/operates (www.hawaiigamers.net) under the guise of helping to grow the community.

Music for this episode is from the Six Mix Girls by TsuShiMaMiRe, the band we saw performing on Saturday night during the Kon.

Here’s the breakdown:

[00:00:00] We beg you to contact us.

[00:00:19] A sample of TsuShiMaMiRe’s Sleepy Dreamy Marshmallow.

[00:00:33] Introductions are made, dreams are shattered.

[00:01:27] Kawaii Kon: “WTF?!” and other first impressions.

[00:06:11] Cosplay: for better or worse.

[00:22:10] We tried to demo a game, but got out dorked by a hot chick.

[00:27:55] Danny’s a web star, so where’s his muthafuckin’ movie check?

[00:29:06] Kawaii Kon is getting bigger every year.

[00:33:07] Trannies as cosplayers.  Thoughts?

[00:35:19] Time for the “Hentai Movie Block.”  Hand Check!

[00:51:09] TsuShiMaMiRe’s concert: an Itty Bitty Metalfest.

[00:57:10] Sunday, the day of rest and a slow Kon.

[00:58:53] Kyle’s a douche, Stan Sakai is a saint.

[01:05:07] HGNet, our local community forum.  www.hawaiigamers.net

[01:15:06] Next Week looks to be Warmachine MKII

[01:16:19] Don’t Be That Guy and Goodbye

[01:19:01] A sample of TsuShiMaMiRe’s Hyper Sweet Power.

[01:19:30] A dramatic reading of the lyrics of TsuShiMaMiRe’s Hyper Sweet Power.

Hope you like it and if you were at Kawaii Kon and horribly offended, we invite you on to hear your side of things.  Especially Pikachu.
